About Us
Blue Valley Behavioral Health (BVBH) is a private non-profit corporation that serves fifteen counties in Southeast and East Central Nebraska. BVBH was established in 1968 in response to concerned citizens who showed an interest in bringing mental health and substance abuse services to the area. BVBH has a history of continuous growth and development, and subsequently has broadened the services provided to the citizens of this area.

A local board of directors governs the operation of BVBH representing the counties served by the agency. Blue Valley Behavioral Health is accredited by the Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Our Mission
Blue Valley Behavioral Health (BVBH) exists to provide quality professional outpatient behavioral healthcare to our rural service area in cooperation with other providers.

Our Vision
Blue Valley Behavioral Health (BVBH) will strive to provide affordable and accessible behavioral health services to individuals of all ages. We will specialize in treating people in our communities who are impacted by life’s difficulties in a safe, supportive and caring environment. Our services will be provided by professional staff who are driven to help each individual, adult or child, develop new strengths and abilities in living an enjoyable satisfying life.

Our Values
Our values represent what we believe is vital in providing effective and reliable behavioral health services. These values also provide the direction we need as an agency to ensure our continued growth and success in the rural community:

Client Focused: This is the primary purpose why we work for BVBH. We are in the business of helping people. We value helping others irregardless of their age, sex, income level or current problem(s) they are experiencing.

Quality: We will provide excellent service to our clientele. In addition, no matter what job or responsibility we are doing for BVBH, we will do it well.

Collaboration: At BVBH, we value collaboration within and outside of our agency. We cannot exist without having relationships with others. We work with each other as staff and we work together with referral sources and other entities. Collaborating helps us accomplish and sustain more than if we work separately.

Accountability: We value accountability because of how we are structured. Having eleven (11) different offices and staff working in and out of the office, accountability is essential. Accountability is a result of knowing and understanding the importance of all of our different responsibilities and doing them well.

Respect: We respect each other and those who we serve. There will always be a variety of differences between all of us (staff and clients) and we need to respect these differences. With respect we can serve anyone.
